A proud alumnus of Johnson & Wales University, I graduated Summa Cum Laude, a testament to my dedication and love for the culinary arts. My career began at the Stouffer Nashville Hotel, laying the foundation for a journey filled with growth, discovery, and accolades. Working under the tutelage of the acclaimed Chef Andrea Apuzzo in New Orleans, I honed my skills in crafting dishes that speak volumes of my passion and dedication.
My culinary adventure took me across the United States, from the vibrant kitchens of Bix in San Francisco, where I rose to the position of Sous Chef, to the renowned Jake’s in Philadelphia, earning 4 Mobile Stars and cementing my reputation in the culinary world. My journey didn’t stop there; I was recruited to open Six Penn Kitchen in Pittsburgh, PA, where I was honored with both Best Restaurant and Best Chef awards.
Brooklyn, NY, became the canvas for my entrepreneurial spirit, where, alongside my sister, I opened Ted & Honey Cafe, Ted & Honey Cafe @ BLDG 92, and Parker Red Catering Events by Ted & Honey. These ventures not only showcased my culinary prowess but also my ability to create spaces that resonate with warmth and joy.
My culinary skills caught the eye of the Food Network, leading to appearances on “Chopped” and “Cook Your Ass Off,” further solidifying my presence in the culinary world. Craving new challenges and environments to spread my culinary wings, I relocated to Charleston, SC, and unveiled The Westendorff Restaurant, greeted with rave reviews.
Today, as the Director of Food Service and Executive Chef at Franke at Seaside in Mount Pleasant, I continue to pour my heart into every dish, event, and dining experience. Beyond the kitchen, I’m a devoted father to four beautiful daughters and a loving caretaker to three cats, one Australian Shepherd and a beautiful successful wife who works in Coastal Management with NOAA. I fell like I embody the essence of a family man who brings the comfort and joy of home-cooked meals to a broader audience.
My life is a blend of high-stakes kitchen adventures, serene family moments, and the continuous pursuit of culinary excellence.
