Colonial Park Cemetery

Savannah is so rich in history and of its many cemeteries, Colonial Park is our favorite. Established in 1750, this cemetery feels like walking into a time machine. The old and damaged grave stones make for an amazing history lesson and there are some very notable burials here including Revolutionary soldiers, governors and a signor of the Declaration of Independence.

Notable Restaurants in Savannah

As I mentioned the Savannah food scene is exploding. It will be easy to stumble onto a good meal here. Two of the nationally known restaurants, The Olde Pink House and The Grey which was featured in many popular magazines and even featured in an episode of Chef’s Table. If you’re worried about getting a reservation at one of these restaurants, worry not as there are dozens of great restaurants filling this city.

River Street Walk

River street is great no matter what time of day. From the many little shops to restaurants over looking the river, this has to be a stop during your visit. And if you weren’t aware, Savannah is one of few cities that have no law regarding drinking in the streets. One of our favorite stops is Wet Willys for a strong alcohol slushy, perfect for the spring/summer.

Congress Street Social Club

And finally MY favorite late night spot is Congress Street Social Club. Not only for some late night grub, but CSSC offers live music, cheap drinks, bar games and fun and lively atmosphere. This is usually my last stop and great send off to reminisce about everything this great little city has to offer. Whenever I think of a truly great southern city, Savannah always comes to mind.
