**Shrimp & Grits with Crawfish chowder***
This chowder proved that my life was a sham and everything I had known about soups was falsehoods and tall tales! THIS clearly is what chowder is supposed to taste like! Before I could even get the spoon to my mouth, my nose took in one good whiff of aroma and said “yup, this is about to be good.” My mouth closed around the spoon, FULL of crawfish, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and creamy broth. I INSTANTLY started looking around the room, hoping my mama would show up! This chowder was divine! Perfect conistently, and fulled to the brim with seafood! It was a situation of “I want to slow down to savor this, but it’s so good that my mouth would completely shut down forever if I stopped now.” It might not have seemed like it, and I hope she caught it, but I swear I was saying “Chef Terri this is the best I’ve ever tasted.” It may have been inaudible because I couldn’t take the risk of stopping long enough to get a full audible sentence out.
Then the Shrimp and Grits entree…Not being a big grits person, I wasn’t looking forward to this as much as the chowder. But Chef Terri! This was no normal Shrimp and Grits! First of all, the shrimp were large and PERFECTLY cooked. There was shrimp, there was onion, there was a gravy that was succulent, and decadent. The grits were creamy, and hearty.
Chef Terri is the BEST! Her attitude and personality fit in perfectly with our group, and we just adored her! I look forward to working with her again. She’s reason enough to come back to Asheville!
