Chef Klaus came to cook Dinner for us and our friends Anniversary.
He was here in plenty of time and after some small talk, (he told me that he has a surprise meal course, but wouldn’t tell me what) he cooked our favorite “Go To” weekday meal, Chicken Breast Marsala. He proceeded to get ready for dinner, had the potatoes in the oven, Asparagus trimmed to be blanched and he was ready to plate the Bibb Lettuce. I chilled salad plates before he got here (I knew he likes chilled salad plates) and he plated, dressed and garnished the Lettuce with fresh raspberries. He served it, along with fresh baked Hard Rolls and Butter Rosettes, to our guest, Joe and me. After he cleared the plates and forks, he surprised us with an Intermezzo – “to clear the palate” he said. It was Zucchini Ice with. Everybody enjoyed it. The Steaks were excellent, juicy, tender and cooked perfectly to everybody’s liking. The Salmon, with the Almond-Pesto topping, was a hit with our guest, so was the crisp, green Asparagus. After he cleared the table, he finished off an amazing Crème Brûlée’ with a hint of Espresso and fresh Raspberries. Perfect Finish to a Perfect Dinner.
Chef Klaus did a wonderful job. He washed all the dishes, wiped everything down and left the place clean. We are looking forward to our next function on the 13 of March (My Birthday) with a complete German Menu. Can’t wait for the Black Forest Cake.
