Wow! What an amazing experience we had with our chef Ed. He exceeded any expectations I might have had for the evening. The portions were quite generous, the food was high quality, perfectly seasoned and delicious. He interacted with us, answered some of our cooking questions and created a special night for our bride to be. 10 out of 10! Book Ed if you have an event in the Charleston area. This was our first experience with Food Fire and Knives and we could not have chosen a better chef! Chef Ed was every bit the professional and prepared our selections with the freshest ingredients. The portions were plentiful and we had a difficult time finishing everything. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.
Having grown up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I have a deep appreciation for the abundance of local seafood and produce available to us here in Charleston. Whenever possible I try to incorporate these items into my menu. Inspired by the many local celebrity chefs and the food of my childhood, I try to express my love of all things southern in my food. But I haven’t always lived here. A while back I moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where, after working at several restaurants, I ended up as the Executive Chef of the fabled Old Yellowstone Garage. At OYG I gained an appreciation for Italian cuisine and discovered that the Italians are just as proud and protective of their local food traditions as we are in the South. I am back in Charleston now and enjoy working as a private chef with Food Fire and Knives. Perhaps the biggest attraction to being a private chef is the interaction with our clients. Unlike when I was running restaurants and stuck in the kitchen, I get to engage our clients. I love to answer questions and help to expand their culinary knowledge.
